APS Metal Pressings Ltd at Westminster

23 April 2015

On Tuesday 3rd February, Steve Tinley ( Commercial Manager ) joined a Made in the Midlands delegation to meet at that time with Secretary of State for Business, Vince Cable at the Houses of Parliament and was allowed the opportunity to directly pose questions about the manufacturing sector with particular inference to the skills gap agenda.

In all, over thirty Midlands businesses made the trip, impressing upon the Business Secretary, how much the UK economy was benefitting from Midlands business and in particular the Automotive sector, whereby the likes of JLR lead the way and are supported by a host of strategic suppliers such as APS.

It is hoped that any Government that is appointed on May 7th continues to listen to business leaders and with Midlands manufacturing playing a key role in the regeneration of the UK economy, that our politicians explore new and more creative ways in which to attract business into the UK.
